Statement of Faith

God’s Family Church RI Statement of Faith

We Believe….

  1. The Word of God
The Bible is the living Word of God written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God is without error and gives us direction on how to conduct our lives as Christians. There is nothing added or taken away from the Bible and it is vital to our spiritual growth in Christ. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12
  2. The Trinity
There is one true God that exist in three persons (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit). The Trinity reveals Himself in the Holy Scriptures. 2 Corinthians 3:14; Matthew 28:19
  3. God the Father
Our Heavenly Father is all-powerful, all-mighty, omnipresent, loving and forgiving. He is perfect in every way, hears and answers our prayers when we pray in the name of His Son Jesus Christ. Deuteronomy 6:4; John 1:3
  4. God the Son
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God who came on earth to reunite us as sinners with our Heavenly Father. Jesus, also known as Emmanuel (God with us), accomplish this by making the ultimate sacrifice – giving his life so that we may have everlasting life. Isaiah 53:10-12; John 1:1
  5. God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit guides and directs us in our everyday lives. The Holy Spirit gives us direction, power and the ability to continue to conduct our everyday lives in a way that is pleasing to God. The Holy Spirit is our helper, teacher and continued guide. The initial physical evidence of the Holy Spirit was experienced by the Acts of the Apostles during the Day of Pentecost when they spoke in tongues. This is still relevant today in the church! John 14:16-17; Acts 2:1-13
  6. The Church
The church is the body of believers (Christians) led by Jesus Christ who is the head of the church. The body of believers are those who have confessed and repented of their sins, claimed Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and has been baptized in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. The church studies and applies the Word of God to their everyday lives, pray and encourage one another in the Word. Romans 12:4-5; Ephesians 4:11-13
  7. The Power of Prayer
We believe in the power of prayer to move every satanic mountain. Whether you are sick, stressed, struggling with family, finances, etc. we believe there is no mountain too big for God to move. The greater the problem, the greater the testimony! 1John 5:14-15; Philippians 4:6-7
  8. The Mission
To teach, edify, pray and encourage one another according to the Word of God. To seek and save the lost. To continue to spread the Gospel and win souls for Christ all over the world according to the Great Commission. Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 10:2
  9. The Final Judgement
Jesus promise he will return again! When He returns there will be judgement. Those who are truly living for Christ will inherit everlasting life. Those who are not will be condemned. Jesus tells us to be watchful because the end is near. That is why we much tell people the good news – through Jesus Christ, you can have everlasting life! John 5:29; Revelations 20:11-13
