Why Do You Need A Pastor: PT. 2

Why do you need a pastor Pt 2

“Joshua the son of Nun… shall cause Israel to inherit it” (Deuteronomy 1:38).

A good pastor represents the leadership of Jesus in your life; to follow a good pastor is to follow Christ.

Just like Jesus watches over His flock, the church, pastors watch over the sheep given to them. They are responsible for many areas of your personal life. “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account” (Hebrew 13:17).

First, a pastor watches out for your soul. They teach God’s Word so you’ll be able to take authority over every thought that doesn’t line up with God’s will for your life. The care of your soul is not left with you alone but also with a shepherd—your pastor.

They pray “that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God” (Colossians 4:12). Second, your pastor will one day give an account to God, for their teaching, and your spiritual growth.

They are benefited by your submission to their teaching, but so are you. You’ll be rewarded in heaven for your obedience to their revelations of the Word. You’ll also be prospered right here on earth. Your pastor will cause you to inherit the blessings of God!
