There Is No Other Name - Acts 4:12

"save", "deliver", "protect", "heal"

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

Peter healed a crippled man and he got into trouble for it. The rulers, elders, and teachers of the law called Peter before them for questioning in order to stop the healings from happening again and to find out the source of his power.

Peter told them plainly that his power came from Jesus, who God had raised from the dead. Verse 12 is an important one. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." The Greek word translated as “salvation" is "soteria", which means "rescue", "safety", "deliverance", "salvation", and "health".

The last word in the sentence is the Greek word "sozo", which means to "save", "deliver", "protect", "heal", and be made whole. Notice that being saved and being healed are bound together in the meaning of the Greek word "sozo" just as Jesus repeatedly bound them together in his description of His mission and purpose and in His instructions to all His followers for their mission and their purpose.

Accept the salvation that God has offered to you. Praise God that you have been given salvation for your spirit, your precious eternal self.

But recognize, accept, and believe that the other benefits included in the Greek word "sozo" (healing, deliverance, and being made whole) have been provided for your entire being, which includes your mind and your body as well. Jesus paid an awesome price for you, so receive with gratitude and thanksgiving all His gifts of salvation, deliverance, and healing.
