Seeking The Lord's Counsel Brings Maturity

Pray Seek God

The wise in heart will receive commands, but a prating fool will fall…. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise.

Proverbs 10:8; 12:15 We all want to be right, but the fact is, we are never right all the time.

Rather than seeking to be corrected when we are wrong, human nature hides, denies and defends itself. I know many people who would rather fail at whatever they are doing than admit they had made a mistake. But the wise man who understands and submits to the maturity of correction will seek the Lord’s counsel.

Your life is not at the mercy of everyone else. Yes, other people can affect you, and they can have a certain amount of influence over you. But you decide how that influence will affect you.

You decide if a mountain is a platform to blast off from to reach great heights, or a hindrance that will stop you in your tracks.

Jesus said: "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things." Matthew 12:35
