Attitude Is Everything Pt.I

Attitude is everything

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a
way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV).

There are no unique temptations, but the devil likes to make us think there are. If he can convince us no one understands, then he can isolate us and take away our hope. However, any temptation we face is just some variation of the same old thing. Understanding this defuses much of the power of temptation.

In context, Paul was warning these Corinthian believers, who thought they could eat meat offered to idols without any temptation on their part, to think again. If these Corinthian believers flirted with sin, they would be tempted. Therefore, "flee from idolatry" (1Corinthians 10:14).

God will aid you in resisting temptation by helping you (1) recognize those people and situations that give you trouble, (2) run from anything you know is wrong, (3) choose to do only what is right, (4) pray for God's help, and (5) seek friends who love God and can offer help when you are tempted. Running
from a tempting situation is your first step on the way to victory see 2 Timothy 2:22. Running away is sometimes considered cowardly, but wise people realize that removing themselves physically from temptation often can be the most courageous action to take. Do you have a recurring temptation that you find difficult to resist? Remove yourself physically from any situation that stimulates your desire to sin.

Make this confession: “I am tenacious, Hebrews 10:23, "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)." I will not let go until I see all I am believing for come to pass”. Leviticus 19 - Psalm 23-24 - Ecclesiastes 2 - 1 Timothy 4 18 April 16.
